Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSM)
STSMs support individual stays at research organisations and institutions, for the purpose of training, collaboration, and exchange of scientific knowledge and expertise. Their aim is to foster collaboration in excellent research infrastructures and share new techniques that may not be available in a participantโs home institution or laboratory.
Requisites
- STSM are open to applicants from all career stages.
- the applicant must visit an institute in a Country different from the one where he's affiliated
- the applicant's main affiliation must be in a COST Country. there are no limitations on the Country of destination
Conference Grants
Conference Grants support the participation to international conferences and workshops, that are not organized by COMETA. There are 3 types of Conference Grants, that differ in scope.
General Requisites
- the applicant must be affiliated in a COST Country
- they must give a talk or poster presentation at a conference/workshop.
YRI and ITC conference grants allow the presentation of personal research results, while Dissemination conference grants require the presentation of Action results. - the application must meet the additional requirements specific of each grant type, see below

YRI Conference Grants
YRI Conference Grants support oral or poster presentations by Young Researchers and Investigators, i.e. scientists <40 years old.
ITC Conference Grants
ITC Conference Grants support oral presentations by researchers based in Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbouring Countries (NNC).
Dissemination Conference Grants
Dissemination Grants support oral presentations by Action members, about results produced by COMETA Activities.
Regulation
All grants consist of a flat amount that is paid after the travel has concluded.
